At the 10:00am service:
Continuing in the successful tradition of last year, the children will begin the service with their parents in the Cathedral, and not be dropped off upstairs before hand (children not going to the nursery that is). It is integral that the children begin the service in the same worship space as the rest of the congregation. It teaches the children that although they are leaving as a group to hear the bible stories, and interact with one another in another part of the church, they have begun, and will end their worship time, as one body with the rest of the congregation. The children will return to the main church body to join their families during the offertory.
Nursery Aged Kids (aged 0-3) in Rm. 202
The Nursery will be opened at 9:45am and parents are welcome to drop the little ones off before the 10:00am processional hymn. The Nursery has a two fold purpose for the families of St. Paul’s. It offers an opportunity for parents to have an hour of child care for their children, with the opportunity to deepen their hearts in prayer, secure that their little ones are taken care of. The nursery is also the introduction to Christian fellowship for the youngest members of our congregation. The children will have the opportunity to learn prayers and hymns in their first steps to becoming church.
Children’s Liturgy of the Word (aged 4-8) in Rm. 204 & 205
The children will engage in age appropriate curriculum from ‘Seasons of the Spirit,’ where they will learn hymns, prayers, bible stories and do crafts.
Junior Youth Group (aged 9-12) in St. Aidain’s Chapel
Led by rotating members of the clergy team, the JYG will leave with the Children’s procession, to hear lectionary readings and an interactive Homily in St. Aidain’s Chapel.
Senior Youth Group (High School Age)
The Sr. Y.G will be encouraged to become readers, servers, intercessors, choir members, and greeters at the 10:00am service. Having been nurtured through the Children’s Ministry Program at St. Paul’s, the young adults will be asked to serve their church and take an active role in ministering to their community.
It is our hope that Children’s Ministries at St. Paul’s will continue to grow. Please tell your friends and relatives about the exciting things we are engaging in here at our Cathedral Church and invite them to join in.
