St. Paul's Cathedral

Ash Wednesday Choral Eucharist

February 14th, 2018 at St. Paul's Cathedral from 7:00 pm to 8:15 pm
All are welcome and invited to attend the Ash Wednesday Choral Eucharist at St. Paul's, Wednesday February 14th at 7:00pm

The Ordinary will be sung to the setting of the Communion Service by William Harris; the anthem during Communion is "O Lord, Look Down From Heaven" by English composer Jonathan Battishill.

During the Imposition of Ashes the choir will sing and the motet "Remember Not" by Henry Purcell:

Remember not, Lord, our offences,
Nor th' offences of our forefathers;
Neither take thou vengeance of our sins,
But spare us, good Lord.
Spare thy people, whom thou has redeem'd
With thy most precious blood,
And be not angry with us for ever.
Spare us, good Lord.

Hymns and the Gregorian chant Tract and Communion Antiphon will draw us even deeper into this experience.

This service will be a wonderful way start our journey into the 40 days of Lent.
