Dear friends in Christ,
As many of you know, Dean Kevin George is currently on medical leave. We continue to lift Kevin in prayer, asking God for healing and strength during this time. This journey reminds us of the importance of community and compassion.
We are grateful for the leadership and care of our clergy team: Linda, Dawn, Joshua, Marian, and Pat.
We are also delighted to welcome Archdeacon Amanda Longmoore to our cathedral family. Her presence brings added support and wisdom to our shared ministry. A heartfelt welcome to Amanda.
The year 2025 has brought exciting changes to our worship space. The renovations have been embraced by much of our community, and visitors are continually inspired by the beauty and flexibility of the nave. Our unique labyrinth — a one-of-a-kind in Canada — has become a spiritual centrepiece.
If you’d like to learn more about the work that has been done, please use the QR code on the poster at the entrance of the nave.
These changes have allowed us to worship more closely together, fostering a deeper sense of unity and belonging.
However, alongside these blessings, we face financial challenges. Our operational budget currently carries a $70,000 deficit. I invite you to prayerfully consider making a one-time special gift to help us to overcome this hurdle. It will take time to gain financial stability, and your generosity will serve as an instrument of God’s grace in achieving our goal.
Let us continue to walk together in faith, hope, and love.
Yours in Christ,
Sam Thomas,
on behalf of The Very Reverend Dr. Kevin George

Dear Parishioners:
As Archdeacon Sam Thomas mentioned in his accompanying letter, 2025 has been a year of big projects here at the Cathedral - with the renovation of the Nave and St. Aidan’s Chapel and the installation of the labyrinth. The Cathedral also hosted the General Synod of the Anglican Church of Canada last June and we will be hosting the annual Synod of the Diocese of Huron on October 24th and 25th.
At the same time, however, regular life goes on at the Cathedral through the work of our various Ministries, from Social Services and Fellowship to music, bible studies, outreach and Sunday worship, to the myriad of committees and activities which comprise the life of our parish.
We are mindful of repeated requests for funds from our parishioners – including the current Dreams and Visions campaign to finance the renovations. However, we can’t ignore the reality that it takes money to operate our Cathedral and its ministries. As Archdeacon Sam mentions, we currently have a $70,000 operational deficit for 2025. St. Paul’s is more than our building and we need your continued financial support to cover the daily, weekly, monthly and yearly expenses we incur to keep our Ministries going and our cathedral operating.
Therefore, we would ask that you prayerfully consider making a special contribution to the Cathedral to help us cover our current operating deficit of $70,000.00. We would also appreciate if you could review your current financial contributions to St. Paul’s and consider increasing your support in 2026 so that we can continue to conduct the activities and Ministries which we all enjoy at St. Paul’s. The wardens, clergy and staff would be grateful if you could show your support by making the special donation that Archdeacon Sam has mentioned in his letter this month. You can make your special contribution by cash, cheque, credit card (by visiting Carrie Fieldhouse in our church office), securities (see https://diohuron.org for forms) or by Interac transfer (send to treasurer@stpaulscathedral.on.ca. ) Please include “special appeal donation” on your cheque or Interac payment.
Finally, we wish to sincerely thank you for your past and present commitments to St. Paul’s – financial and otherwise. We would not be here without the generosity of our parishioners. As always, should you have any questions, comments, concerns or suggestions for the wardens and clergy, please feel free to speak with any one of us after Sunday services or through the cathedral office.
Blessings and thanks.
Yours in faith,
Gordon Rolleston, Warden, James Ferguson, Warden, Doreen Kyomugisha, Deputy Warden
