Through Baptism, a person is welcomed as a child of God, becomes a member of Christ’s Body, and is renewed by the Holy Spirit. At St. Paul’s, we baptize both adults and children, affirming that God’s love extends to all, regardless of age.
Adult candidates and the parents or guardians of children preparing for Baptism meet with a member of the clergy in advance of this life-changing sacrament. Baptisms normally take place during a regular service, where the whole community witnesses the vows and promises to support the newly baptized as they grow in faith and join the family of Christ.
Confirmation is an important and joyful step in the Christian journey. It is a time for asking questions, exploring scripture and worship more deeply, and strengthening one’s relationship with God and the Church.
In Confirmation, candidates take the Baptismal Covenant as their own promise to God and are welcomed as adult members of the faith community. Classes are offered every two years and are interactive and engaging, with conversation, reflection, and activities designed to help faith come alive.
Congratulations on your engagement! We would be honoured to help you celebrate your wedding at St. Paul’s Cathedral.
Couples preparing for marriage meet with a member of the clergy and participate in a marriage preparation course. At least one partner must be baptized, but we warmly invite all interested couples to begin the conversation by meeting with a member of the clergy and visiting the Cathedral.
