The Refugee Support Committee at St. Paul’s Cathedral is a group of parishioners dedicated to welcoming and supporting newcomers to our community. Guided by faith and compassion, the Committee works to offer practical assistance, advocacy, and friendship to those rebuilding their lives in London.
In recent years, the Committee was instrumental in helping refugee families from Syria arrive and settle in the city, providing hands-on support during a significant time of transition.
Today, the Committee’s focus has evolved, with members actively involved in the Let’s Talk program at St. Paul’s Social Services. This welcoming initiative helps newcomer families build confidence in conversational English in a relaxed, informal setting. While adults practice speaking and connect with volunteers, children enjoy word games and engaging activities — fostering community, friendship, and a sense of belonging for the whole family.
