Betty McLeod, St. Paul’s Cathedral’s first Artist-in-Residence, is a London native, acclaimed textile artist, and founding member of the Canadian Embroiderers’ Guild of London. Her work has been exhibited across Canada and internationally, including at St. George’s Cathedral in Jerusalem.
At St. Paul’s, Betty is best known for the ten embroidered canvas tapestries in St. Aidan’s Chapel, which beautifully depict the life and ministry of St. Aidan. Inspired by her travels in Northumbria, each piece reflects remarkable craftsmanship, care, and historical detail.
In recognition of her artistic contribution to the Cathedral, Dean Bruce Howe named Betty McLeod St. Paul’s first Artist-in-Residence.
Catherine Morrisey is a London-based artist whose vibrant paintings celebrate the beauty of the natural world, particularly the woods, riverbanks, and gardens of London, Ontario. Inspired by both ancient Chinese landscape painting and the rich colour of artists such as Bonnard, her work invites viewers into scenes of peace, wonder, and timelessness.
A graduate of York University’s Fine Arts program, Catherine has exhibited her work throughout Canada and the United States. She has long been an active figure in London’s artistic and heritage communities.
As our current artist-in-residence, Catherine’s artwork adorns the walls of Cronyn Hall, bringing warmth, beauty, and life to this gathering space within St. Paul’s Cathedral.
